I will be teaching 6th grade students from both TEAM and Silver Ridge at the same time. Students will be using the new curriculum we piloted last year.  This involves keeping a notebook and working in a team to solve problems and learn.  There is homework almost every night, so please check your child's planner and notebook daily.
     We also will be doing many types of problem solving activities to prepare for the future and for WASL testing that comes in each school year now. I have several really nice resources for this and it will be part of the daily work in math. Students will keep these problems in a spiral notebook so you may review them later.
     One other aspect of our program will be the “Rocket math” portion which is a drill and practice of basic facts. Your child will be able to explain this more later.
