This is our classroom web page. There is information here about all of our classes and other information.
I am Karen Bonwell-Nafie. I live in the Seabeck area
with my husband, John and our daughter, Kristen. We have three kittens (Vashti,
Songha, and Kumal) and a gerbil named Zoomer. I love to read, scrapbook, make cards,
quilt, cook, and other crafty things. I also love to travel and share what I
learn and see with my classes. I have taught for over 20 years and in
many grades.
Our classroom rules focus on treating one another with respect and
kindness. Teaching and learning should not be interrupted by any person
in our classroom. These rules are basic to all classrooms in our school
and wording will change as the year goes on and students help to refine
them.
Always try and do your best.
Cooperate with other people.
Respect the rights and property of yourself and others.
Manage yourself.
Students are encouraged to be polite, share, help one another, listen to
others, praise others, take turns, and talk about problems.
Silver Ridge policy requests that no toys, gum, or candy be brought to
school. Hats may not be worn inside the building. Items brought in will
be confiscated until the end of the school year. Hats will also be
placed in the June Box.
School begins at 9:10, although students are invited to come in at 9:10.
The final bell is at 9:10. Homework will be turned in each morning as
students arrive, in the appropriate areas.
Our Normal Classroom Schedule:

Students may come in, turn in work, start SSR and other morning routine
activities.
